Charulatha Mani Biography

Charulatha Mani is a popular playback singer associated with Tamil film industry. She also performs in live Carnatic concerts, and is a columnist who writes the column “A Raga's journey” for The Hindu newspaper.

She is regularly featured in radio shows as well as TV shows. Isai Payanam – is her popular show on Jaya TV, which emphasizes on Carnatic music and film music. Kaakka Kaakka” from “Naan Avan Illai”, Chillax” from Velayudham, Theeye Theeye” from Maattrraan and “En Uchi Mandaila” from Vettaikaran are some of her popular film songs.

She has been awarded the 'Woman Achievers Award' (2009), Yuva Kala Bharati from Bharat Kalachar, the Isai Kurasil from New Delhi and M S Subbulakshmi Endowment Award from Narada Gana Sabha, Chennai, apart from several other awards.

 

She was born in Chennai on January 21, 1981.
